There were bins of “slightly irregulars” that were made for our family. Before we headed up to Maine, Mama would stop by Champion to buy summer clothes. Her best find? Twelve of the exact same sweatshirt in various sizes.
“Do you know how hard it is to keep track of all of you when we are out? This way I just count the red sweatshirts and I know I have everyone.”
Heaven help the random kid in a red sweatshirt….
The Champion T-shirts and sweatshirts were made better than other brand: the cotton was softer and sturdier and the seams (especially if you happened upon a ‘regular’ shirt at a good price) were better stitched.
Besides the “7th AB” sweatshirt, I have other Champion t-shirts that have worn the years, well, better than I have.
